Privacy Policy

DataPathsala (datapathsala.com) is a data engineering practice platform operated by Manish Kumar. We provide coding problems, study plans, courses, and interview preparation resources for data engineers.

Account information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile name and email.

Usage data: We record which problems you solve, your submission history, streak activity, and XP/level progress. This data powers your personal dashboard.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card number, UPI ID, or any payment credentials. We only receive a transaction reference ID and payment status from Razorpay.

Technical data: Standard server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and debugging only.

• To operate your account and track your learning progress
• To process credit purchases and apply credits to your account
• To calculate leaderboard rankings and streaks
• To send transactional emails (password reset, email verification)
• To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• To prevent fraud and abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

We use the following technologies:

• Authentication cookies: A session token stored in localStorage to keep you logged in.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (page views, session duration, traffic sources). This data is anonymized and aggregated. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Google AdSense: We display ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing history. See Google's advertising policies for details. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

We share your data only with:

• Razorpay — to process payments. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
• Google — for Sign in with Google, Analytics, and AdSense. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Hosting/infrastructure providers — our servers and database providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 7 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance (e.g., payment transaction records).

Submission history and anonymized usage data may be retained in aggregate form after deletion.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data via your Profile page
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Object to processing of your data for analytics purposes

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text. Code submissions run in isolated sandboxed containers with no network access. Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay and we never see raw payment credentials.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

DataPathsala is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
